m. Mary Ann Coxon, Sheffield, 1842.

Records indicate that Edward married Mary Ann only after the birth of their sixth child (see also Thomas Tunaley Jnr.)

1871 census:

Thomas married for a second time, would have been living in some degree of poverty with his family at 38, Willow Row, Derby, part of an area known as the Derby West End notorious for its grim living conditions. Remarkably this area was regarded as a slum even in the nineteenth century. Thomas and wife Elizabeth both listed as "French Polishers".

1881 census:

Thomas and his family have moved to Nottingham and most are living at 38, Stanhope St., Nottingham St. Mary (see panel right). This movement would be compatible with Thomas having received his share of Henry's estate (see panel top). Thomas still listed as a "French Polisher".
