Records indicate that Edward married Mary Ann only

after the birth of their sixth child (see also Thomas

Tunaley Jnr.)

1851 Census: Henry is aged 18 and living with his parents Edward and Mary Ann at 69, Bridge Gate, Derby. It seems Henry, the eldest son, is following in his father's footsteps as he is listed as cabinet maker.

1881 Census: Henry and wife living at 39, Nottingham Road, Derby. Occupation of Henry given as Joiner. The last 8 in panel right of Henry and Elizabeth's children are living there.

1891 Census: Henry's wife Elizabeth has died. Henry (aged 58) and his children (Edward, Mary Ann, Fanny, Sarah Ann and Alice) now living at 81, Nottingham Rd. Derby. Occupation of Henry again shown as Joiner.

1901 Census: Henry, aged 68, listed as joiner/carpenter. Now living at 77, Nottingham Road, Derby. Also resident there are his daughter Hannah aged 23, listed as Pork Butcher, and granddaughters Eliza Bennett, aged 16, and Elizabeth Tunaley, aged 6 years. Eliza is the daughter of Kate who married John Harrison Bennett, Derby, 1880. Elizabeth would be the daughter of either Edward or John, and b. Derby, 1894.

Henry and his family provide a good example of how branches of the Tunaley family disappeared at least in name.

Henry had eleven children, of whom two were male, John and Edward. John himself had two daughters and there are so far no recorded offspring for Edward although Elizabeth, as mentioned in the panel left, could certainly have been a daughter of Edward.
