The following information courtesy of Dr.Jane Holmes: 1841 census shows that prior to Thomas's marriage in 1846, the first three children carried the surname Sparkes. Susannah and the children were then living at 32 Bath Street, Derby. Thomas Tunaley Jnr. was not a resident. ______________ 1881 census: the family is living at Chestnut Grove, Radcliffe on Trent, nr. Nottingham. William, aged 33 years described as Wine Merchant. There are 3 servants. 1891 census: William is now running a public house "The George" in Newington Butts, Newington, Southwark,London. All the family is living there and there are 9 others listed as living on these premises comprising servants, barmaids, barmen and a cook. William is described as s Licensed Victualler. Susannah Sparks
b. 1806. m. Thomas Tunaley Jnr, 1846. Susannah died Camberwell, 16th. December, 1890.
Some time after daughter Sarah married in 1882, Susannah the mother left Derby for Camberwell, London, probably to live with or close to Elizabeth who in 1891 was living in Newington London, according to census of that year (see panel left). Husband william was then running a public house.
